Sesame Street Inspired Drool Bibs

Supplies: Cotton Yarn in main colors, black, white, and small amounts of orange, tan, and brown (I used Sugar and Creme), H hook, a yarn needle, and a Button.
Stitches Used: sc- single crochet, slst- slip stitch, ch- chain, sc2tog- single crochet two stitches together, hdc- half double crochet, dc- double crochet.
Cookie Monster Bib: Bib (blue), eyes, pupils, mouth, and cookie.
Oscar the Grouch Bib: Bib (green), eyes, pupils, mouth, tongue, and eyebrow.
Elmo Bib: Bib (red), eyes, Elmo’s pupils, Elmo’s nose, and mouth.
Bib (worked in rows, beginning with your choice of main color)
Row 1: ch 19, begin stitching in 2nd chain from hook, sc 18 across, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 2 sc in first stitch, sc 16, 2 sc in last stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: 2 sc in first stitch, sc 18, 2 sc in last stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 4: 2 sc in first stitch, sc 20, 2 sc in last stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 5: 2 sc in first stitch, sc 22, 2 sc in last stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: 2 sc in first stitch, sc 24, 2 sc in last stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 7-Row 30: sc 28 across, ch 1, turn.
Now you will continue with main color to create the first strap.
Row 31: sc 8, ch 1, turn.
Row 32: sc2tog, sc 6, ch 1, turn.
Row 33-Row 44: sc 7 across, ch 1, turn.
Row 45: sc2tog, sc 3, sc2tog, ch 1, turn.
Row 46: sc2tog, sc, sc2tog.
Fasten off.
Attach yarn to opposite corner of Row 30, ch 1, and work rows 31-46.
At end of row 46 on strap two, ch 1, sc around entire bib, at top of strap two ch 8, slst to ch 1, fasten off, weave in all ends.
Attach button to top of strap 1.
Eyes (worked in round with white yarn, make 2)
Round 1: magic ring- sc 6.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.
Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in second stitch,* repeat around.
Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches,* repeat around,
slst to first sc of round.
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing onto bib.
Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch Pupils (worked in round with black yarn, make 2)
Round 1: magic ring- sc 6, slst to first sc.
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing to white of eye.
Elmo Pupils (worked in round with black yarn, make 2)
Round 1: magic ring- sc 6.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing to white of eye.
Mouth (worked in rows with black yarn)
Row 1: ch 9, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc 8, ch 1, turn.
Row 2- Row 7: 2 sc in first stitch, sc in each stitch until the last stitch, 2 sc in last
stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 8: 2 sc in first stitch, sc in each stitch until the last stitch, 2 sc in last stitch.
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing to bib.
Tongue (worked in rows with red yarn)
Row 1: ch 9, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc 8, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: sc 8, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: sc 3, slst in next stitch, sc 3, ch 1, turn.
Row 4: sc, dc, sc, slst in center stitch, sc, dc, sc.
Fasten off.
Eyebrow (worked in row with brown yarn)
Row 1: ch 28, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc 3, hdc 4, dc next 13, hdc 4, sc last 3 stitches.
Fasten off, leave long tail for sewing.
Elmo’s Nose (worked in the round with orange yarn)
Round 1: magic ring- sc 6.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.
Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in second stitch,* repeat around.
Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches,* repeat around,
slst to first sc of round.
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing onto bib.
Cookie (worked in the round with tan yarn)
Round 1: magic ring- sc 6.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.
Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in second stitch,* repeat around.
Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in each of the next 2 stitches,* repeat around,
slst to first sc of round.
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing onto bib.
*Using brown yarn, create 5 or 6 French knots randomly on the cookie to look like chocolate chips.
Assembly:
Sew pupils to center of eye whites, then sew eyes, evenly spaced, toward the top of the bib. (Cookie Monster’s eyes should be slightly touching at center of bib)
Attach Elmo’s nose so that it is just touching the edges of both eyes.
Center mouth at the bottom of the bib, sew on. (Sew tongue on to mouth before sewing to bib, add black line to top part of tongue to add a little definition)
Sew eyebrow onto bib, slightly overlapping the top of the eyes.
Sew cookie to bib, half on mouth portion and half on the blue of the bib.
Add a button to the top of strap one.
