Lilo Pattern

Supplies Needed: Big Twist Value Yarn in Camel, white yarn, red yarn, black yarn, small amount of dark blue yarn, 3.25 mm hook, 3.5 mm hook, (2) 12 mm safety eyes, poly-fil stuffing.

Stitch Abbreviations Used: sc – single crochet, slst – slip stitch, bobble – 4 double crochet together, sc2tog – single crochet two together, ch – chain, hdc – half double crochet, dc – double crochet, trc – treble crochet, ch – chain.

Arms (make 2, camel yarn, 3.25 mm hook)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc

Round 2: *2 sc first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around.

Round 3: *sc first stitch, 2 sc in following stitch, sc next stitch* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 4: sc around.

Round 5: bobble, sc next 11.

Round 6: *sc2tog, sc next 2* repeat * to * around. (9 stitches)

Round 7 – Round 16: sc around.

Fasten off, weave in ends. Add light stuffing to each arm.

Legs (make 2, camel yarn, 3.25 mm hook)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 4: *sc first stitch, 2 sc in next, sc in following stitch* repeat * to * around. (24 stithces)

Round 5: sc first 7, *bobble, sc next* 4 times, bobble, sc last 8 stitches.

Round 6: sc first 6, sc2tog 6 times, sc last 6. (18 stitches)

Round 7: sc first 5, sc2tog 4 times, sc last 5. (14 stitches)

Round 8 – Round 17: sc around.

Fasten off leg 1. Do not fasten off leg 2, continue directly to body/head section.

Body/Head (white yarn, 3.25 mm hook)

Round 1: slst 4 stitches, align the legs making sure feet are going in the same direction, ch 2, place stitch marker, sc 14 around leg 1, sc in each chain, sc 14 around leg 2, sc in the opposite side of each chain. (32 stitches)

Round 2: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 15* repeat * to * around. (34 stitches)

Round 3 – Round 5: sc around.

Change to camel yarn.

Round 6: BLO [sc, *sc 3, sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * 2 times] repeat [ to ] around.

Round 7 – Round 9: sc around.

Begin stuffing legs and body.

Round 10: [sc, *sc 2, sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * 2 times] repeat [ to ] around.

Round 11 – Round 14: sc around.

Round 15: sc first 4, align arm 1 with body, sc 5 to attach arm 1 to body, sc next 8 stitches of body, align arm 2 with body, sc 5 to attach arm 2 to body, sc last 4. (26 stitches)

Round 16: sc first 4, sc 4 around outside of arm 1, sc next 8 stitches of body, sc 4 around outside of arm 2, sc last 4. (24 stitches)

Round 17: sc around.

Round 18: sc first 3, sc2tog 3 times, sc next 6 stitches, sc2tog 3 times, sc last 3. (18 stitches)

Round 19: *sc2tog, sc next* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 20 – Round 21: sc around.

Round 22: 2 sc in each stitch around. (24 stitches)

Round 23: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 3* repeat * to * around. (30 stitches)

Round 24: *sc first 2, 2 sc, sc 2 next* repeat * to * around.

Round 25: sc around.

Round 26: *2 sc first stitch, sc next 5* repeat * to * around. (42 stitches)

Round 27 – Round 36: sc around.

Place safety eyes between rounds 32 and 33 with 6 stitches in between them. Use a small piece of black yarn to embroider a mouth between rounds 27 and 29. Continue stuffing.

Round 37: *sc2tog, sc 5* repeat * to * around. (36 stitches)

Round 38: sc around.

Round 39: *sc 2, sc2tog, sc next 2* repeat * to * around. (30 stitches)

Round 40: *sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * around.

Round 41: *sc first, sc2tog, sc next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Finish stuffing.

Round 42: *sc2tog, sc next* repeat * to * around.

Round 43: sc2tog around. (6 stitches)

Fasten off, use tail to weave remaining stitches closed.

Ears (make 2, camel yarn, 3.25 mm hook)

Round 1: magic ring – 5 sc.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing to sides of head at round 34.

Shoes (make 4, dark blue yarn, 3.5 mm hook)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc around. (12 stitches)

Round 3: *2 sc first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around.

Round 4: *sc first stitch, 2 sc, sc next* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Fasten off, weave in ends on first 2 shoes, leave tail for sewing shoes together on last 2.

Shoe Strap (make 2, dark blue yarn, 3.5 mm hook)

Row 1: ch 11.

Fasten off, attach each end to one shoe piece with ends woven in. After attaching the strap, use a shoe piece with a tail to sew to shoe piece with strap. Then tack shoes onto Lilo’s feet.

Hair (black yarn, 3.5 mm hook)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc around.

Round 3: *2 sc first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 4: *sc first stitch, 2 sc, sc next stitch* repeat * to * around.

Round 5: *2 sc first stitch, sc next 3* repeat * to * around. (30 stitches)

Round 6: *sc first 2 stitches, 2 sc, sc next 2 stitches* repeat * to * around.

Round 7: *ch 6, begin working in 2nd chain from hook, slst, sc next 4, slst to next stitch of round 6* repeat * to * 6 times, *ch 31, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc, hdc next 29, slst to next stitch of round 6* repeat * to * around 30 times across the remaining stitches of round.

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Place the hair on top of head lining up the shorter hair strands to be bangs over the face. Sew the hair to head by first tacking around round 6 of the hair and then tacking the individual hair strands into place lower on the head.

Dress (red yarn, 3.5 mm hook)

Row 1: ch 25, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc 24, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: *sc first 5, 2 sc each of the next 2 stitches, sc next 5* repeat * to * across, ch 1, turn. (28 stitches)

Row 3: *sc 4, 2 sc each of the next 6 stitches, sc 4* repeat * to * across, ch 1, turn. (40 stitches)

Row 4: *sc 2, 2 sc next, sc 2* repeat * to * across, ch 1, turn. (48 stitches)

Row 5: sc first 7, ch 2, skip 9 stitches, sc next 6, ch 2, skip 9 stitches, sc last 7, ch 1, turn. (30 stitches, 4 chains)

Row 6: sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 7: sc first stitch, *sc 5 stitches, 2 sc, sc next 5 stitches* repeat * to * across, ch 1, turn.

Row 8 – Row 24: sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 25: sc across.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing.

Leaves (make 6, white yarn, 3.5 mm hook)

Round 1: ch 6, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, slst, ch 4, slst to furthest chain from hook.

Round 2: ch 2 (starting chain, does not count as stitch), dc, trc next 3, dc, hdc, 3 sc in next stitch, hdc, dc, trc next 3, dc final stitch of round.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing. Sew leaves randomly placed around dress. After all leaves are attached, put the dress of Lilo’s arms and use the dress tail to sew the seam in the back and weave in ends.
