Get Ready to Make a Splash with this Colorful Rainy Day Remi Pattern!

Here we go… the pattern for Rainy Day Remi! When you’re done, make sure you check out Remi’s friend Ruby the Rainbow Moose too!

Supplies Needed: 3.25 mm hook, buff yarn, yellow yarn, red yarn, orange yarn, green yarn, blue yarn, purple yarn, black yarn, pale gold yarn, and off-white yarn, 12 mm safety eyes, pipe cleaner, poly-fil stuffing.

Stitch Abbreviations: sc – single crochet, bobble – bobble stitch, sc2tog – single crochet two together, ch – chain, hdc – half double crochet, trc – treble crochet, BLO – back loop only.

Arms (make 2, buff yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 3: sc around.

Round 4: bobble in first stitch, sc next 11.

Round 5: *sc2tog, sc next* repeat * to * around. (9 stitches)

Change to blue yarn.

Round 6 – 13: sc around.

Round 14: lightly stuff hand and arm, flatten round 13 to create a closed top, you’ll complete the stitches of round 14 through both front and back of arm to close it, sc 4.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Legs/Feet (make 2, black yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in next* repeat * to * around.

Round 4: *sc in first stitch, 2 sc in next, sc in following stitch* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Change to yellow yarn.

Round 5: BLO sc around.

Round 6: sc around.

Round 7: sc first 6, sc2tog 6 times, sc last 6.

Round 8: sc first 5, sc2tog 4 times, sc last 5. (14 stitches)

Round 9 – Round 10: sc around.

Change to buff yarn.

Round 11: BLO sc around.

Round 12 – Round 17: sc around.

Fasten off leg 1, repeat to create leg 2 but don’t fasten off. After round 17 of leg 2, change to white yarn and continue to body/head section.

Body/Head

Round 1: ch 3, begin stitches in leg 1, 3 stitches away from fasten off, sc 14 around leg 1, sc in each of the 3 chains, sc 14 around leg 2, sc in the back of each of the 3 chains. (34 stitches)

Round 2: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 16* repeat * to * around. (36 stitches)

Round 3 – Round 4: sc around.

Change to blue yarn. Stuff legs.

Round 5: *sc2tog, sc next 7* repeat * to * around. (32 stitches)

Round 6: BLO sc around.

Round 7 – Round 8: sc around.

Round 9: *sc first 3 stitches, sc2tog, sc next 3 stitches* repeat * to * around. (28 stitches)

Round 10: sc around.

Begin stuffing body.

Round 11: *sc2tog, sc next 5* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Round 12: sc around.

Round 13: sc first 4, hold an arm up to the body and complete next set of stitches through both arm and body to connect the two, sc 4, sc next 8 of body only, hold other arm up to the body and complete next set of stitches through both arm and body to connect the two, sc 4, sc in last 4 stitches of body only. (24 stitches)

Round 14: *sc2tog, sc next 6* repeat * to * around. (21 stitches)

Round 15: *sc first 3, sc2tog, sc next 2* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Change to buff yarn.

Round 16: *sc2tog, sc next 4* repeat * to * around. (15 stitches)

Finish stuffing body.

Round 17: *sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 18: sc around.

Round 19: 2 sc in each stitch around. (24 stitches)

Round 20: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around. (36 stitches)

Round 21: *sc first 5 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat * to * around. (42 stitches)

Round 22 – Round 33: sc around.

Insert safety eyes between rounds 30 and 31 with 4 stitches between them. Embroider a nose over round 29 between the eyes.

Round 34: *sc2tog, sc next 5* repeat * to * around. (36 stitches)

Continue stuffing head.

Round 35: *sc first 2, sc2tog, sc next 2* repeat * to * around.

Round 36: *sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Round 37: *sc first stitch, sc2tog, sc next stitch* repeat * to * around.

Round 38: *sc2tog, sc next stitch* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 39: sc2tog around.

Fasten off, finish stuffing head, weave in ends to close unworked stitches.

Hair (light yellow yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2 – Round 3: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 3* repeat * to * around. (30 stitches)

Round 5: *sc first 2, 2 sc in next stitch, sc following 2 stitches* repeat * to * around.

Round 6: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 5* repeat * to * around. (42 stitches)

Round 7 – Round 15: sc around.

Round 16: hdc first 19, sc next stitch, slst 1, sc next stitch, hdc last 20.

Round 17: hdc first 18, sc next 2, slst 1, sc next 2, hdc last 19.

Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing onto the head.

Buns (make 2, light yellow yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Round 6: sc around.

Round 7: *sc2tog, sc next 4* repeat * to * around. (15 stitches)

Fasten off, stuff the bun and sew on top of the hair.

Cloud Applique (white yarn)

Round 1: ch 8, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, 4 hdc in first stitch, slst in next stitch, 2 trc in next stitch, 3 trc in next stitch, slst next, 5 hdc in last chain, turn your work to work along the opposite side of the foundation chain, sc 2, 2 sc in each of the next 2 stitches, sc last 2.

Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing the cloud onto the body of the doll.

Ears (make 2, buff yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 5 sc.

Fasten off, sew to head in front of hair line at rounds 28 and 29.

Skirt (red yarn)

Round 1: attach yarn to FLO of round 6 on the body, 2 hdc in each stitch around. (64 stitches)

Change to orange yarn.

Round 2: *2 hdc in first stitch, hdc in next* repeat * to * around. (96 stitches)

Change to yellow yarn.

Round 3: hdc around.

Change to green yarn.

Round 4: hdc around.

Change to blue yarn.

Round 5: hdc around.

Change to purple yarn.

Round 6: hdc around.

Change to white yarn.

Round 7: *sc2tog, sc next 14* repeat * to * around. (90 stitches)

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Umbrella (red yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Change to orange yarn.

Round 4: sc around.

Round 5: *sc first stitch, 2 sc in next, sc following stitch* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Change to yellow yarn.

Round 6: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 3* repeat * to * around.

Round 7: sc around.

Change to green yarn.

Round 8: *sc first 2, 2 sc in next, sc each of the next 2* repeat * to * around. (36 stitches)

Round 9: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 5* repeat * to * around.

Change to blue yarn.

Round 10: *sc 3, 2 sc in next stitch, sc 3* repeat * to * around. (48 stitches)

Round 11: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 7* repeat * to * around.

Change to purple yarn.

Round 12: *sc first 4, 2 sc in next, sc next 4* repeat * to * around. (60 stitches)

Round 13: *sc next 10, ch 3, slst in first chain* repeat * to * around.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Umbrella Handle (black yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 4 sc.

Round 2 – Round 21: sc around.

Fasten off, *optional* add a pipe cleaner into the handle to create a hook. Sew round 21 of the handle to round 1 of the umbrella.
