Head (camel yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next 2* repeat * to * around.

Round 5: *2 sc in first stitch, sc each of the next 3* repeat * to * around. (30 stitches)

Round 6: *sc each of the first 2 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch, sc in each of the next 2 stitches* repeat * to * around.

Change to camel yarn.

Fasten off leg 1, continue on to body with leg 2.

Body (camel yarn)

Round 1: ch 2, place stitch marker, pick up leg 1, sc 18 around leg 1, sc in each chain, sc 18 around leg 2, sc in opposite side of starting chain. (40 stitches)

Round 2 – Round 4: sc around.

Round 5: *sc2tog, sc each of the next 8 stitches* repeat * to * around. (36 stitches)

Round 6 – Round 10: sc around.

Stuff legs.

Round 11: *sc2tog, sc each of the next 4* repeat * to * around. (30 stitches)

Round 12 – Round 13: sc around.

Begin stuffing body.

Round 14: sc in each of the first 4 stitches, pick up one arm, complete the next 4 stitches through both the body and arm at the same time, sc 4 to attach arm, sc each of the next 11 stitches of body only, pick up other arm, complete the next 4 stitches through both the body and arm at the same time, sc 4 to attach arm, sc each of the last 7 stitches of body only.

Round 15: *sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * around.

Round 16: *sc2tog, sc next 6 stitches* repeat * to * around. (21 stitches)

Round 17: sc around.

Fasten off, stuff remainder of body, leave tail for sewing to head.

Nose (dark brown yarn)

Round 1: ch 5, begin working in 2nd chain from hook, 2 sc in first stitch, sc each of the next 2 stitches, 4 sc in the last chain, turn to continue working along the back of the foundation chain, sc each of the next 2 stitches, 2 sc in the last stitch. (12 stitches)

Round 2: sc around.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing to snout.

Snout (buff yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 2* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Round 5 – Round 7: sc around.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing into head. Sew nose to snout between rounds 3 and 5 of snout, adding stuffing to nose as you sew. Add stuffing to snout as you sew it to the head at round 14.

Antlers (dark brown, make 4 pieces total for 2 antlers)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in next* repeat * to * around. (9 stitches)

Round 3 – Round 5: sc around.

Fasten off first two pieces, continue with pattern for last two pieces.

Round 6 – Round 12: sc around.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing onto head. Lightly stuff the first two pieces, sew one small piece to each of the larger pieces between rounds 5 and 7. Sew antlers to head at round 5.

Ears (make 2, camel yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in next* repeat * to * around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 2* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 4: *sc first 3 stitches, 2 sc in next stitch* repeat * to * around. (15 stitches)

Round 5 – Round 8: sc around.

Round 9: *sc2tog, sc next stitch* repeat * to * around. (10 stitches)

Round 10: flatten to close front to back of ear then pinch the top and bottom together to create a curved ear. You will then work stitches through all layers to hold shape, sc 3.

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing onto head at round 7.

Santa Coat (red yarn, worked in rows)

Row 1: ch 41, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc 40, ch 1, turn.

Row 2 – Row 6: sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 7: *sc2tog, sc next 6* repeat * to * across, ch 1, turn.

Row 8: sc across, ch 1, turn.

Row 9: sc 5, ch 6, skip 6 stitches, sc next 8, ch 6, skip 6 stitches, sc last 5, ch 1, turn.

Row 10: sc in each stitch and chain across, ch 1, turn.

Row 11: *sc2tog, sc next 3* repeat * to * across, ch 1, turn.

Row 12: change to white blanket yarn, slst in each stitch around entire coat edge.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Coat Sleeves (make 2, red yarn)

Round 1: attach yarn to open space between rows 8 and 9 of coat, sc 15 around arm hole.

Round 2 – Round 3: sc around.

Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in each of the next 4 stitches* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 5 – Round 7: sc around.

Round 8: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 5* repeat * to * around. (21 stitches)

Round 9 – Round 11: sc around.

Change to white blanket yarn.

Round 12: slst in each stitch around.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Belt (black yarn, worked in rows)

Row 1: ch 45, begin stitches in 2nd chain from hook, sc 44, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: sc across.

Fasten off, sew onto coat after putting coat onto reindeer, use gold yarn scraps to embroider the buckle.

Santa Hat (red yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 4 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 3: sc around.

Round 4: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in next* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 5: sc around.

Round 6: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next 2* repeat * to * around.

Round 7: sc around.

Round 8: *2 sc in first stitch, sc each of the next 3 stitches* repeat * to * around. (20 stitches)

Round 9: sc around.

Round 10: *2 sc in first stitch, sc in each of the next 4 stitches* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Round 11: sc around.

Round 13: sc around.

Fasten off, weave in ends. Create a small pom pom using white worsted weight yarn, attach to round one of hat. You can choose to tack the hat in place on top of the head or covering one ear or leave it removable.

Gift Bag (dark green yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around.

Round 3: *2 sc in first stitch, sc next* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 4: *sc in first stitch, 2 sc next, sc in next stitch* repeat * to * around. (24 stitches)

Round 5 – Round 9: sc around.

Round 10: *sc2tog, sc next 5 stitches* repeat * to * around. (21 stitches)

Round 11: *sc2tog, sc next 4* repeat * to * around. (18 stitches)

Round 12: *sc2tog, sc next stitch* repeat * to * around. (12 stitches)

Round 13: FLO 2 hdc in each stitch around.

Fasten off, weave in ends. Stuff bag with poly-fil and sew bag closed using unworked back loops of round 12. Using gold yarn, ch 20, fasten off then weave in and out of bag between rounds 11 and 12, ties ends together before tacking to hand of reindeer.

Candy Cane (red yarn)

Round 1: magic ring – 6 sc.

Round 2: sc around.

Change to white yarn.

Round 3 – Round 4: sc around.

Change to red yarn.

Round 5 – Round 6: sc around.

Round 7 – Round 18: repeat round 3 – round 6.

Fasten off, insert pipe cleaner into candy cane, use tail to sew end closed. Bend into candy cane shape and tack onto hand of reindeer.
